David Stern Just Cursed the NBA

stern

With the veto of the blockbuster three team trade that would have sent Pau Gasol to the Rockets, Lamar Odom to the Hornets, several quality players to the Hornets from the Rockets in exchange for Chris Paul, David Stern effectively went all Saddam Hussein on the league. The claim by the league was that the veto was for “basketball reasons”, everyone knows it was simply... Read More

Cordray Confirmation Denied: The (Rich) Lunatics Still Run the Asylum

cordray

The Senate today denied a vote on the nomination of Richard Cordray to head the new Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. Many of the powers granted the new agency to protect consumers and regulate consumer and mortgage lending cannot be fully implemented until a Director is appointed. Clearly the interests of large corporations and banks have bought and paid for their representation,... Read More

He’s Still In?

Photo courtesy of Jay Janner/AMERICAN-STATESMAN Politico discusses Rick Perry’s new ad slamming the president’s “war on religion.” I didn’t know Perry was still in the race. He needs to get through Gingrich and Romney (and the other also-rans) before he needs to worry about the president. Dead campaign walking! Did you like this? Share it:Tweet Read More

Steve Jobs

Steve.jpg

Jobs It is with shortness of breath and some trepidation that I finish Steve Jobs, by Walter Isaacson. Certainly the work is a sweeping and thorough exploration of the man that is (rightfully) now placed on the short list of great innovators, who belongs in the same sentence as Henry Ford and Walt Disney. No matter what your inclination or opinion, it is without hyperbole that... Read More

Revisited: Derek Sivers

Derek Sivers

You may not know Derek Sivers. You may not know his brainchild-CDBaby.com. That’s ok. He created the site in order to provide a clearinghouse/marketing tool for indie and “local” bands that choose to remain outside the mainstream music nightmare, or find themselves locked out by image-above-substance A&R guys and gals and the labels they rep. After building... Read More

iPad Encourages Crime!

Apple Break In

The iPad was just released in Norway three days ago. Apparently, the demand was so high, thieves in Norway stole a BMW (nothing but the best for these thieves!), then crashed it into an Apple Authorized Reseller. Once inside, they made of with unnamed boxes of merchandise, but TUAW believes there were plenty of iPads in the haul. Did you like this? Share it:Tweet Read More
